Position Overview
The student serves as an assistant to the Scholarly Communications team. This job primarily involves formatting PDFs to make them more accessible for the web. Secondarily, this student may be responsible for searching multiple online resources for the needed metadata of publications. This metadata will be recorded and entered using various web forms and/or online tools.
Work Schedule
The Scholarly Communications Assistant can work with library supervisors to make a work schedule that fits around their class schedule.
Students are responsible for five to 10 hours a week of work.
Job Responsibilities
Some of the primary responsibilities will include:
- Working with PDF editing tools to remediate documents for online posting.
- Filling out databases with citation information from publications.
These skills are not required before hire.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will:
- Have excellent attention to details.
- Be dependable.
- Have strong computer skills.
Pay
The starting rate for all student employees is $14 per hour
