ARTFL Project

What is it? The ARTFL Project has texts of French literature ranging from classic works to nonfiction prose and technical writing. The cooperative project for American and French Research on the Treasury of the French Language is sponsored by the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique and the University of Chicago. It includes more than 2,000 French texts from the 13th to 20th century.

Why use it? French-language classic documents and reference books.

Coverage: 1180-Present

Access: Available on networked computers on the MSU campus in Bozeman and via the proxy server. Some of the databases and collections are free to all users; unlimited simultaneous users.
