What is it? Account Registration Required: After you submit the form to register for a WRDS account, it must first be approved by the Library. Upon account approval by the Library, you will receive an email letting you know that your WRDS account is active and ready for use.

Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) is a data research service that manages various data sources and delivers the data in a seamless, unified, and consistent form. WRDS provides the user with one location to access data across multiple disciplines including Finance, Marketing, and Economics. WRDS provides provides data validation, flexible delivery options, simultaneous access to multiple data sources, research-based analytics, and dedicated client support provided by doctoral-level professionals.
Where Does the Data Come From?
The MSU Library's subscription to WRDS contains various data sources that are included in the base subscription to WRDS (please register for an account to see all data sources available to you). Additionally, the Library has added data from Compustat and CRSP.
Compustat Fundamentals provides standardized North American and global financial statement and market data for over 80,000 active and inactive publicly traded companies that financial professionals have relied on for over 50 years.
The Center for Research in Security Prices (CRSP) maintains a comprehensive collection of security price, return, and volume data for the NYSE, AMEX and NASDAQ stock markets.
Why use it? Access data across multiple disciplines including finance, marketing, and economics

Access: WRDS use is restricted to authorized MSU faculty, staff, and students. Commercial use is not permitted.
