Wildlife Review Abstracts
(1935 & earlier to present) — NISC produces  Wildlife Review Abstracts, formerly Wildlife Review, which until 1996 was produced by the U.S. National Biological Service. Over 464,085 citations and abstracts provide excellent coverage on all aspects of wildlife. Major topic areas include studies of individual species, habitat types, hunting, economics, wildlife behavior, management techniques, diseases, parasites, and more. Over 1,500 sources are scanned, including journals, monographs, proceedings of conferences and symposia, websites, government reports, grey literature, books, theses, and dissertations. Many sources are not indexed by other databases. About 15,000 records are added per year. Abstracts have been added from September 1996 onward.

Swiss Wildlife Information Service
(SWIS, 1974-present) — Federal Office of Environment, Forests & Landscape and the University of Zurich. SWIS provides more than 108,175 records drawn from over 400 journals in addition to books, reports of congresses, dissertations, and theses. A main database on wild birds and mammals is supplemented by special files on protected animals and wildlife interaction with traffic, disturbance, and agriculture.

Wildlife Database
(1960-present) — U.S. Fish and Wildlife Reference Service. Ninety percent of the citations in this file of 26,350+ records are drawn from unpublished research reports, field studies, and surveys from U.S. state agencies.

(1970-1999) — National University of Costa Rica. BIODOC provides 9,050 citations with emphasis on Central and South American fauna. Some of the source literature is unique to the region.

Waterfowl & Wetlands Bibliography
(Duckdata, 1838-2000) - U.S. Geological Survey, Duckdata provides over 13,000 citations with a valuable focus on game birds and their habitats and includes North American theses and dissertations.

IUCN - The World Conservation Union
(1946 - present) - IUCN: The World Conservation Union publications database provides over 4,970 citations to IUCN literature  related to the conservation of life. The bibliographic records are produced in two databases: IUCN - Publications and IUCN - Reports. The list of serials provided in the IUCN - Serial holdings database provides complete details of various serials, which is an invaluable tool for researchers and scientists.

Natural & Cultural Heritage of Africa (NATCHA)
(1960 - present & earlier) - This database of over 15,975 records, is contributed by NISC South Africa. It has an extensive coverage of natural history journals relating to wildlife in Africa, with a special reference to Southern Africa.

Afro-Tropical Bird Information Retrieval Database (Afro-Tropical BIRD)
(20th Century to present some 1800s) - This database of over 73,150 records covers the Afro-Tropical Region of Sub Saharan Africa and the African Ocean Islands. It has current and historical coverage on Afro-Tropical Birds.
