Volunteer Connections of Southwest Montana

Volunteer Connections of Southwest Montana (VCSM) has been gradually developing in the Bozeman area community based on a clear need for a centralized volunteer opportunity clearinghouse. A group of concerned non-profit leaders and the folks in the MSU Office for Community Involvement office began work on this challenge in the fall of 2003. The concept evolved to create a web-based tool to achieve a mission to provide and facilitate volunteerism by building bridges between community resources and community needs. With this centralized web-based volunteer resource, VCSM will provide community members with an opportunity to easily locate volunteer options in both Gallatin and Park Counties. Conversely, community organizations can utilize VCSM to recruit and fulfill their volunteer needs.

Volunteer Connections of Southwest Montana is a means to strengthen the community's infrastructure, to empower citizens to act, and to build an effective network of volunteers and organizations in Southwest Montana. The site will be launched soon at www.volunteermt.org. For more information, contact Kathy Tanner in the MSU Office for Community Involvement at 994-6902 or stop by 330 Culbertson Hall.
