Provenance Note: This collection of papers came to Special Collections in 1965 from Montana State University Archives.

Historical Note: Oakley R. Jackson ranched and farmed around the White Sulphur Springs area. He tried his hand a various livestock operations include dairy cattle, chickens, pigs, horses, and beef cattle. Mr. Jackson was involved in farming operations of growing grasses and alfalfa for hay and grain for livestock feed.

Content Description Note: The papers are related to the operation of a ranch near White Sulphur Springs from 1920-1945. The topics covered are correspondence about various aspects of ranching, including advertisements of products and services related ranching and western living, certificates for livestock, bills of sale and receipts, logging of timber, grazing on public lands, and printed material, correspondence, and applications related to the USDA Agriculture Adjustment Administration of Roosevelt's New Deal.
