Animal Events at MSU Library
MSU Library hosts animal events throughout the semester offering students a moment to relax and relieve stress, so they can return to their work with renewed vigor.

Friends of MSU Library Events
The Friends of MSU Library board of directors holds both fundraising and “friend-raising” events throughout the year. Past events have included author readings, gala dinners, and more.
MSU Library Open House
Each year, MSU Library holds its annual Open House the day before spring semester begins. It’s a chance to showcase library resources and services, and to bring in university partners to share information about their programs and services. Food, décor, activities, music, and door prizes are based on the year's selected theme.

Trout and Salmonid Lecture Series
MSU Library sponsors an annual Trout and Salmonid Lecture which is free and open to the public. We strive to represent the diversity of angling and select presenters that speak to all aspects of trout and salmonid culture. Past speakers have included authors Carl Hiaasen and Thomas McGuane, television personality Jeremy Wade, and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Director Martha Williams.

Events with Capmpus Partners
MSU Library partners with departments throughout the university. Examples of past
partnerships include events with the alumni foundation, the annual ice cream event
with ASMSU during the student government election, partnerships with the Ivan Doig Center, and many others.
The library also participates in large campus-wide events such as:
Catapalooza - Catapalooza, an event welcoming new and returning students to MSU, is held at the beginning of the fall semester. Organized by MSU Office of Student Engagement, the event draws over 2,500 students. Campus departments, community organizations, and local businesses have booths at the event featuring information, entertainment, food, giveaways, and activities.
New Student Orientation Activities - Each summer the library participates in three new-student orientations hosted by MSU Office of Admissions. For over a decade, MSU Library has been serving root beer floats to students.
