covering a broad spectrum of anthropological topics in
several hundred periodicals in the fields of archeology, cultural and

National Agricultural Library holdings, including journals, chapters,
and books (1970 - present). Coverage is international; abstracts are

- America History and Life (AHL): Ref CD-ROM station
A
bibliographic database covering the world's scholarly literature
in history (1982 - ), including article abstracts and bibliographic
citations for reviews and dissertations on the history and culture of the
US and Canada from prehistoric times to the present. Articles are
abstracted from more than 2,100 journals published in approximately 40
languages.

- Applied Science & Technology Index (ASTI): Ref LAN Ovid
indexes
A broader index produced by the H.R. Wilson Company, ASTI
cites every article of at least one column in length from more than 390
English-language periodicals. Access ASTI (Oct. 1983 - current)
in electronic format by choosing the OVID icon on computer stations in the
Reference area of Renne Library. Or access it through your Trex
account. Type libserv at the host prompt; select Library

English-language periodicals published in the US and elsewhere. Coverage
includes a wide range of scientific journals, from popular to
professional, that pertain to biology and agriculture. About 45% of the

provided.

- Historical Abstracts (HA): Ref CD-ROM station
A bibliographic database on CD-ROM
covering the world's scholarly literature in history (1982 - ), including
article abstracts and bibliographic citations for books and dissertations
on the history and culture of the world, except the US and Canada,
from 1450 times to the present. All branches of history are included.
Articles are abstracted from more than 2,100 journals published in
approximately 50 languages.

- MEDLINE: Ref LAN
index or telnet
A National Library of Medicine periodical index that contains references
to over 3700 scholarly medical journals and medicine-related journals.
For instance, the American Journal of Physical Anthropology
and Human Biology are both indexed in MEDLINE. Access
MEDLINE by choosing the MEDLINE icon on computer
stations in the Reference area of Renne Library. Or access it
by activating the telnet link above.
- Social Sciences Index (SSI): Ref LAN Ovid index
A
Wilson index, SSI cites every article
of at least one column in length from more than 420 English-language
periodicals. Access SSI (1984 - current) in electronic format by choosing the
OVID icon on computer stations in the Reference area of Renne
Library. Or access it through your Trex account. Type
libserv at the host prompt; select Library Access; then
Catlink2. Follow the on-screen instructions. Older print volumes

- UnCover: Ref LAN or
telnet
Search
the tables of contents for almost 17,000 journals (1989-present) using
this electronic article access and delivery system. You may search
by author, keyword, and journal title.
Access UnCover through the telnet link above or connect through
telnet from your TREX account. Type carl at the host
prompt. If you telnet, choose 5 for VT100 terminal emulation.
Press enter to access the Public Catalog; then choose 1 for
the UnCover database. You may
also access the UnCover database through the UnCover Web site.
Use the database with or without a profile, or account. Follow the
onscreen directions to set up a profile (free to MSU-Bozeman students,
faculty, and staff). If you choose to set up an UnCover profile, the
Reveal feature of the account is a free electronic mail alert
service that enables you to receive the tables of contents for each issue
of up to 50 specified journals in your e-mail account on an on-going
basis.
