Bud Lilly Endowed Chair in Trout and Salmonid Bibliography

The Trout and Salmonid Collection at Montana State University

Endowment highlights

The Collection:
The goal is to build the world’s most dynamic collection of books, gray literature, and manuscripts devoted to trout and salmon.

Lecture Series:
The goal is to fund an annual lecture series. Funds produced by the endowment will support honoraria and travel–related expenses for two to four speakers per year. Wide–ranging topics might include histories of trout and salmonid species, angling, fisheries management, ecology, literature, anthropology, business and economics, and politics.

Faculty endowment:
The goal is to put in place a member of the MSU Libraries faculty whose primary responsibility will be the development and management of the trout and salmonid collection and will include working with other faculty, researchers, students, and members of the general public, coordinating acquisitions of books for the collection, special collections reference work, attending trout–related conferences and creating world wide websites to connect many interested groups to MSU resources.

To achieve these goals, we are working to create an endowment of $3 million.
