Campus information for participants when the institute is held at MSU in Bozeman, Montana.

CAVEAT 1 - Cancellations made less than seven days prior to the arrival date will result in a charge for the first night. No-shows will be charged for their entire reservation. There is no refund for canceled early arrival or late departure nights after the reservation deadline date. Please let us know in advance so we will not be assessed this charge.

CAVEAT 2 - Keys will be issued upon check in. Lost keys present a serious security risk for the residence halls. Lost keys or keys not returned will result in an immediate lock change for which you will be charged $48. New Building 1 residents will be charged a rekey charge for each door in a suite. Bent or damaged keys are $9.

Check in/Check out Times

Check-in: 1:00 p.m.
Check-out: 11:00 a m.
Special arrangements must be made in advance of the conference date to alter these times.

Housing for Late Registrations

Conference participants not registering 7 days in advance of the conference start date or those arriving after their pre-arranged reservation arrival date will be housed on an as-available basis upon arrival to campus.

Phones

All rooms have local access telephones. Calling cards will be required for long distance calls. 

Rooms 

Rooms include fresh linens (two sheets, mattress pad, pillow case, pillow and blanket), towels, and bath soap are provided upon arrival. Linens and towels can be changed by bringing used linens to the front desk in exchange for clean ones. Items you may wish to bring from home might include:

  • small reading lamp
  • hangers
  • extra blanket/quilt
  • extra pillow
  • extra towels
  • drinking glasses
  • clock/radio
  • calling card for long distance calls
  • mugs
  • coffee maker
  • iron

Recreation & Facilities 

The MSU campus offers many lounging and green areas around campus. The Strand Union Building has public access computers, bookstore, business center, copy centers, ATMs, several dining and snack options as well as a coffee kiosk. The Museum of the Rockies, one of the world's best natural history museums, is just adjacent to campus.

Conference guests may utilize MSU recreation and work-out facilities for a daily fee of $5 or $50 per month. Contact the Intramurals Office at (406) 994-5000 for times and availability.

Public access computers are available throughout the Strand Union Building. Residence hall sleeping rooms have a complimentary dedicated Ethernet network connection for conference guests staying 7 days or less. If you need assistance connecting your computer in your room or are staying longer than 7 days and would like Internet service, contact the ResNet help desk at (406) 994-1929. Computer labs are available for use in residence halls as well.

Parking

If parking on campus, you will be required to purchase a parking permit at your residence hall front desk, University Police or through Conference Services.

Monday - Friday: $2.50 per vehicle/per day
Saturday, Sunday, holidays: parking is complimentary

Meals 

You will find food options in the Student Union Building, North Hedges Dormitory, in restaurants on West College between S. 8th and S. 11th streets and in the area around the intersection of Lincoln and S. 11th.

Miller Dining Hall is adjacent to the North Hedges Building. Prices are:
Breakfast (served 7 - 8 a.m.): $5.50
Lunch (served noon - 1 p.m.): $6.50
Dinner (served 5 - 6 p.m.): $7.50

Medical Assistance

Medical Assistance is available through the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital which is within a mile of the MSU campus. There are also two urgent care centers nearby.
