Spotlight

Recently acquired books are currently on display on the first floor of the Library in Heathcote Court. Come visit, grab a book, and relax in a soft chair! New titles are added frequently as we continue to manage the collection.

Our new acquistions lists are also available as RSS feeds. Subscribe to one or more feeds to receive notification of titles in your field(s) of interest.

Librarians and library staff develop the Library's collections by acquiring materials over a period of time based on the continual assessment of the information needs of the Library's users. In addition to ongoing materials acquisition, developing the Library's collection involves:

  • replacement of damaged or lost materials,
  • removal of materials no longer needed, based on criteria such as currency, usage, and condition,
  • and the formulation of policies that determine selection or deselection criteria.
Our goal is to build a useful and balanced collection that meets the research needs of MSU. To recommend a purchase, contact your Library Liaison or make a Purchase Request online.
