About the Read & Publish Agreement

MSU Library has a ‘read and publish’ agreement with Springer Nature. In addition to the continued read-access to Springer Nature journals, MSU corresponding authors (the person who handles the manuscript and correspondence during the publication process) may publish articles as open access at no charge to the author.

To qualify, articles must be published in an eligible journal (submitted on or after January 1, 2024).

  • Eligible Journals: Select journals
  • Author Eligibility: Montana State University corresponding authors

Nature titles are not covered under this agreement.

*As there is a limit to the number of articles that can be published openly during each year of this agreement, it may not be possible to make your article open access if the library's article allowance is capped at the time of your request.
