About the Read & Publish Agreement
MSU Library has a 'read and publish’ agreement with the Company of Biologists. This agreement will allow current MSU users to have full read-access to all journal content published by the Company of Biologistsand publish their research openly in the following publications: Development, Journal of Cell Science, and Journal of Experimental Biology; additionally, COB publishes two fully open access journals: Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open.
Overview of Publishing Agreement
- Open Access Article Allowance: Unlimited
- Eligible Journals:Development, Journal of Cell Science, Journal of Experimental Biology, Disease Models & Mechanisms, Biology Open
- Author Eligibility: Montana State University corresponding authors
- Article Processing Charges (APCs) are fully covered for eligible MSU authors

How to Apply for Funding
- When your article is accepted for publication, you will be notified of acceptance and given the opportunity to publish your article as open access (OA) under this agreement.
- All MSU authors who choose to publish OA through the Company of Biologists, should also submit a request for funding through the MSU Library Author Fund.
- Once the form has been received, the library will approve the request, and the article will continue through the publishing process.
