Request periodicals and government documents for retrieval from the Annex

Select periodicals and government documents from the MSU Library's print collection are shelved in the Library Annex. The Annex, located adjacent to campus, is not open to the public. However, patrons can place hold requests on items shelved in the Annex, and Library employees will retrieve and route the items to the main MSU Library for pickup.

It will typically take 1-2 business days to fulfill a request (unless someone else already has the item checked out).

How do I request a physical item from the Library Annex?

1. When you search for an item in CatSearch, if it is located in the Library Annex, you'll be prompted to sign in and place a hold on the item. This will send a request to a Library employee to find the item in the Annex and route it to the MSU Library:

2. After you sign in, you will be able to place a hold on the specific issue or title that you are looking for:

 3. You'll receive an email when  your item is ready to pick up at the Library's Service Desk.

How do I request a digital scan of an article in an item that is in the Annex?

If you are looking for a specific article within an item that is housed in the Annex, you can request that our staff scan and electronically deliver the article to you by submitting a request through interlibrary loan.
