National Establishment Time Series (NETS) Database

What is it? The 2013 NETS Database (available in a downloadable tab-delimited ASCII file) provides longitudinal data on various dynamics of Montana's businesses from 1990-2013. Data includes information on mobility patterns, employment and sales growth performance, job creation and destruction, business startups and failures, changes in primary markets, corporate affiliations, and more.

Use Conditions: The 2013 NETS Database will be available for download until 5/30/17. By logging in with my NetID credentials, I confirm that I am an authorized user of Montana State University (MSU). Authorized users of the NETS Database (DB) include MSU students and faculty. I also agree that the NETS DB is intended for use solely for academic purposes and that redistribution of this data to unauthorized users is prohibited without explicit permission from Walls & Associates. The NETS DB is available in a tab-delimited ASCII file and will automatically download after: login. Inside the download there are two zip files, one for the data and the other for instructions.

Why use it? Search downloadable dataset on Montana businesses from 1990-2013. Analytical skills required to interpret data.


Access: Available for download by authorized users of Montana State University on networked computers on the MSU campus in Bozeman and via the proxy server.
