Bureau of Land Management Boundary Maps (Cadastral Survey Plats & Notes)
What is it? This system provides tools that allow users to find Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Survey Plats and Notes for the State of Montana. This includes Rectangular, Mineral, Homestead, and Monument Plats and Notes as well as Master Title Plats. The ability to access and view the notes and plats at each cadastral staff computer with this system significantly expands the availability of survey documents that have been previously available only through microfiche at the cadastral workstation or in the BLM’s public room. To use this system, select a township of interest by clicking on the maps or click on the SEARCH or Search by Query Form link. Fill out the form and submit. The user can choose the type(s) of images of interest, the survey dates or years, the survey types, the surveyor, and/or the mineral or homestead entry survey number. All images associated with a township or survey number are listed. Click on the list to display the images. The user can pan and zoom around the image, “defuzz” it, and reverse black and white. The user can get information about the image, print the image on the user's printer, save the image to a local computer, and enter a comment about the image into our system if it is not legible or if there is some error in the database about the image.
