"Myth or Reality: Think Outside the Cowboy Boot" is on display through May 3, 2010 in the Renne Library display case in the main lobby.
This mosaic is an artistic interpretation at our mythic perceptions of the American West in light of the realities of American imperialistic conquest, American exceptionalism, and the effects of Manifect Destiny and frontier ethos on indigenous peoples, women, the environment, and foreign policy.
The mosaic was created as part of the Spring 2010 AMST 202 Arts in American: Myths and Realities of the American West class. The tiles were designed and constructed by AMST 202 students and their friends.
