Digital Initiatives Services

Services

MSU Libraries Digital Initiatives provides digital services support for MSU Libraries mission and goals. Digital Initiatives offers services with consulting, designing and building, and the storage and retrieval of digital object collections used in research and academia.

Digital collection content can be made up of images, citations, videos, audio recordings, and/or text files, and have a wide variety of file formats.

Digital Initiatives Projects can include working with a single individual, or partnering with other departments and groups. Projects can include designing and building a web-interface to database records holding a collection’s content information, and/or collecting and disseminating digital materials through Web 2.0 systems.

MSU Libraries Digital Initiatives Projects include building access to MSU Libraries Special Collections through web-enabled state and regional academic and research repositories and multiple web 2.0 social networking systems, with a focus on delivery to students, faculty, and community members.

The MSU Libraries Digital Collections includes, but is not limited to, full-object retrieval of historical materials and MSU Dissertations and Theses, MSU research unique citation databases, searchable repositories of MSU School of Film and Photography's films and documentaries, and materials published on Web 2.0 research and social networking sites, as well as regional research and academic repositories.

We are always interested in hearing and learning about possible projects and opportunities for digitization and data management. Please contact Jason Clark, MSU Libraries Digital Initiatives Librarian, with any questions or inquiries.
