Provenance Note: Architectural drawings and blueprints created by Oswald Berg, Jr. were accessioned by Special Collections on January 25, 1995.

Historical Note: Oswald Berg, Jr. was a Bozeman, Montana architect and son of a Megher County rancher. Berg attended Washington State College and served as an architect in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He began professional practice in Bozeman in 1949, doing business unitl 1983 under the corporate names of O. Berg Jr. and Associates, BGS Architects, and Berg-Grabow and Partners. Berg also served as president of the Bozeman Chamber of Commerce in 1969. He designed many buildings in Montana and neighboring states, including residences, schools, and businesses.

Content Description Note: The Berg drawings have been described as individual sets and assigned set numbers in the order of processing. Montana towns represented are Alder, Belgrade, Bozeman, Colstrip, Ennis, Fort Harrison, Gallatin Gateway, Glendive, Livingston, Phillipburg, Shelby, Sunburst, and Three Forks. Other locations are Cody, Mammoth, and Thermopolis, Wyoming, and Boardman, Oregon. The sets have been individually described.
