Faculty & Staff Checkout Policy

A valid MSU CAT Card must be presented to check out library materials. MSU CAT CARD's or replacements are available at the CAT CARD Office SUB 107. Library user records are automatically updated daily. New permanent, adjunct, or affiliate faculty/staff are advised to contact their department to begin the process of obtaining a Banner record.

All items are subject to recall after 3 weeks, if requested by another patron.

Faculty and staff may designate individuals, over 18 years of age, as surrogate borrowers. To request this privilege, surrogates must present a signed letter on department letterhead from the sponsoring faculty or staff. This privilege is extended for the duration of the current term, or the sponsoring faculty or staff may specify a date on which this privilege is to expire. The sponsoring faculty or staff assumes all responsibility for items checked out and fines accrued.
