MSU Library seeks a creative student assistant with a background or interest in social media and graphic design to work with the administrative staff eight hours per week.

Primary job responsibilities include social media content creation and graphic design projects. Other responsibilities include assisting staff with events, outreach, and other projects. The student holding this position will engage face-to-face with a wide range of individuals to complete this work.

Job Description:
  • Creating graphics and messaging for library social media. Willingness to interact directly with others (Library staff, students, the public, campus departments, and so forth.) to create this content.
  • Using graphic design software to create posters, invitations, and other materials.
  • Assisting with library events and outreach efforts. 
  • Complete general administrative tasks such as collecting and distributing mail, stocking supplies, and so forth.
Qualifications:
  • Experience with public facing interactions
  • Experience or interest in social media
  • Experience in or interest in learning graphic design software, preferably InDesign

The successful candidate will:

  • be self-motivated
  • be able to manage simultaneous tasks and deadlines
  • work independently as well as part of a team
  • remain flexible in the case of changing priorities
Pay
  • $12/hour
  • Students returning to work at the library for a second year will receive a $0.25/hour raise.
